That movie did have a lot of F words. I can handle a little but not a lot. That looks like it would have been a really good movie to watch. Very very interesting story about your roots. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Judy!

No, he would not. Nor would a lot of people I know and love. There are some other parts of the movie that would be difficult for him too. They used to challenge me as well.

I learned that having difficulty with language or other value systems that make me uncomfortable often got in the way of loving people. When I was able to look past vulgar language, I found I was able to hear what people were saying, which was more important than the words they used. Sometimes they're filler words (which I find annoying sometimes) and other times they're used intentionally to bring attention to strong opinions or feelings of the person using them. Other times they're used to bring camaraderie during a conversation. In general, I found that my reaction to the words said more about me as a listener than they did about the person speaking.

I want to be a good listener.
